Stefan Liebermann was the first photographer in the world to test the new FE 35 mm f/1.4 G Master lens, which proved to be a revelation for photos.

This ultra-fast wide-angle lens, combined with its natural perspective, outstanding image quality, lightweight design and weatherproof seal, offers all photographers and videographers new creative options.

Stefan specializes in nighttime nature and landscape photography. The FE 35 mm f/1.4 GM was a clear departure from the usual for him - but he quickly became friends with this lens. “I actually use shorter focal lengths – 16mm or 20mm,” he reports. “Initially I asked myself what this lens could offer me – it became clear pretty quickly! It is ideal for a different view of nature. I usually make sure I have a lot of foreground. At 35mm I focus more on the midground and sky – it’s a wonderful new perspective.”

The lens gave Stefan a new perspective - the optical quality was exactly what he expected. The FE 35mm f/1.4 GM is equipped with one ED (Extra-low Dispersion) and two XA (Extreme Aspherical) elements, a Nano AR II coating and a round 11-blade aperture to deliver sharp results even in difficult lighting conditions sharp shots. “With this lens, the image is clear across the entire range.”

Stefan is an experienced panoramic photographer and found the lens to be excellent for this type of shot. Since the distortion at 35 mm is less than at shorter wide-angle focal lengths, he combined several high-resolution shots into one image. “Where I needed more foreground or a wider perspective, I shot multiple 35mm shots to cover the subject,” he explains. “The autofocus hold function of the new lens was ideal for this because I could apply the same focus for all images.”

Stefan considers the low weight of the FE 35 mm f/1.4 GM to be a significant advantage. “It's great that I can just pack up my α 7 III, a 24mm f/1.4 GM and this new lens and go. I can go mountaineering and camping with it without it hindering me. I will definitely be taking a lot more photos with this lens.”
